Graduated in Economics from the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão – ISEG, he was a lecturer at various national universities, a consultant on monetary and exchange policy for the Government of Angola, and from the Directorate of Econometric Models of the Central Planning Department of the Portuguese government's Ministry of Planning and Territorial Administration.
He has been part of the Montepio Group since 2008, having held non-Executive positions at Montepio Gestão de Ativos (2008 and 2017), Montepio Valor (2011 to 2013 and 2015 to 2017) and Futuro (2008 and 2017) and as Executive Director of Banco Montepio Geral Cabo Verde since 2014. He is an Executive Director of Banco Montepio and Banco Empresas Montepio since March 2018 and was Director of the Financial and International Directorate of Banco Montepio (2008 to 2018). Previously, he was part of Millennium BCP, Bank Millennium (Poland), Banco Mello de Investimentos and Banco Totta & Açores.
Co-author of the "Banking Loan Manual - second volume" and the publication "Financial Markets I and II" from the Instituto de Gestão Bancária.
